Before we had hounds we had other canine mixed breeds and the clip collars were always made of webbing and it would cause there hair to mat up under the collar. That is why I always wrap material around the webbing to keep that from happening. My clip collars are made with seatbelt material just like my martingales with a welded D-ring. I use plastic clips since I have found the metal clips hard to release.
